What time do I need to arrive for my treatment?
Whether you’re having aromatherapy facials, spa nail treatments, hair removal or any other beauty treatments, we would always recommend customers to arrive at either our Cranleigh or Dorking beauty salon promptly on-time for your appointment.
Where are you based?
Beauty By Dawn is a beauty and tanning salon based in Surrey. We have two beauty studios, one that has been based in Dorking for over twenty-eight years and the other in Cranleigh for thirty years. Both salons offer a tranquil, relaxing environment to have your treatment.
Are you qualified?
Yes, Beauty By Dawn is run by beauty professionals Dawn and Claire, who are part of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology Ltd, as well as CIDESCO trained. We are qualified beauty therapists with many years’ experience in treatments such as aromatherapy facials, spa nail treatments, hair removal and depilatory treatments.
What brands do you use?
We use industry-leading beauty brands at our beauty salon in Cranleigh and Dorking. Our stocklist includes St Tropez tanning salon products for a streak-free, sun-kissed tan, O⋅P⋅I nail products for at-home or in-salon spa nail treatments, The Perfume Studio for delightful perfume scents and natural products with essential oil blends for exquisite aromatherapy facials.
Waxing
How does warm waxing work?
Warm waxing is a beauty treatment performed at our beauty salon and tanning salon in Dorking. It is a well-known and efficient method of hair removal, carried-out by applying a thin layer of warm wax to the chosen area. Using heat ensures hair follicles open-up, enabling even the most stubborn hair to be removed as the wax is peeled off.
How much hair growth is needed before waxing?
For optimum results, we recommend allowing the hair to grow to around 1cm or longer. Before visiting our beauty salon for hair removal, it is also best not to put any body lotion on prior your treatment.
Tanning
Do I need to do anything prior to my spray tan?
We recommend thoroughly exfoliating and moisturising in advance, prior to having your St Tropez spray tanning treatment. This will remove dry skin, helping to avoid any patchy areas in your tan. On the day of your tan, please leave off body lotion and wear loose dark clothing. We offer optional exfoliating services with your spray tan at our fully-equipped beauty and tanning salon in Dorking.
Can I have other treatments on the same day as my spray tan?
If you’re having a full-body spray tan, we recommend avoiding aromatherapy facials, hair removal treatments and any other body and face treatments. This is to avoid ruining your tan and making it patchy. Spa nail treatments such as manicures and pedicures are fine.
